A geometric songbird identity launches the Birdy Awards for youth theatre.
-
Replacing the discontinued Joey Awards, the Canada Young Theatre Awards, nicknamed the “Birdy Awards,” annually recognize youth theatre talent and their productions. The cadence from “Joey” to “Birdy” was intentional, creating a name that is memorable and easy to say.The mascot bird embodies the spirit of theatre. Songbirds sing, dance, fluff their plumage like costumes, and build nests like stages. The geometric bird design reflects playful sophistication. Built from modular shapes, the bird marks can be used solo or grouped, while outline flourishes drawn from the same shapes translate into decorative motifs and patterns. The overall look offers something both young performers and their parents can feel proud of.
