Ion Brand Design needed a refreshed identity to mark a new chapter with a smaller team. The goal was to maintain their commitment to branding sustainable communities while attracting more arts and cultural organizations, as well as small-scale local groups and neighbourhood districts.

I created a modular illustration system that transforms buildings into reflections, hills into habitats, and surfaces into storylines. Each scene connects through visual crossovers of elements and textures, and can be cropped, rearranged, or broken into island-like fragments for pitch decks, proposal covers, and studio collateral. Purposefully offbeat, the illustrations were designed to be flexible and delightful. The system reflects Ion’s holistic approach to place branding and became a distinctive part of how the studio reintroduced itself and pitched for new work.
